The abstract frees me emotionally and physically from traditional learning and thinking. Often I use different tools when painting alternating between sculptural tools and paint brushes sometimes even using my own fingers. My painting process continues to work with the surface using many layers to create an organic picture while symbolically representing the integration of personality and soul. The process is healing, therapeutic and symbolic because I feel life is enhanced by our experiences. My paradox of hope is that people can relate to this experience and/or feeling. Life is forever giving me more opportunities to juggle more and more. I have learned it is necessary for me to have more balance and stillness to create. As a result we are not dual personalities, rather souls composed of multiple beings, each of whom is an indispensable whole. As human beings, we experience life on many different levels at many different times, ever evolving toward more integrated people, and always hoping to attain that holistic goal.
